2021 is the 415th martyrdom year of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Guru of the Sikhs. He was mercilessly tortured to death in 1606 for his refusal to abandon his faith and convert to Islam. He was the first Sikh Guru to be martyred. Seven decades later, in 1675 his grandson and the ninth Sikh Guru embraced martyrdom to protect Hindus of Kashmir.

Why did Guru Arjan Dev and his successors peacefully scarifie their lives? What message to humanity they wanted to conveyed through their martyrdom? Why is it important to remember and memorialise their supreme sacrifices? The webinar shall address all these questions and more.
